STANDARD 2.5" POLES
HAVE A 2500 LB. CAPACITY EVENLY DISTRIBUTED LOAD
BUT ANY POLE AND MOUNT CAN BE BENT OR BROKEN BY MISUSE
THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR BENDING AND BREAKING POLES
OR MOUNTS; KNOW HOW TO USE IT OR DON'T BUY IT.

fluctuating steel prices, all prices are subject to change
Carriage Mount
is semi-permanent, remove forks, install ram and mount, bottom clips are
then bolted.
Fork mounted poles come with a mount that accepts standard Class II forks, but load rating drops as the rug ram is actually
farther away from the truck than with the conventional
mount. You MUST know roll weights and understand the lift capacity of your machine!
Class of carriage - generally a Class II carriage is 16" tall and a Class
III is 20". Class II is found on most forklifts
through 5000 and even 6000 lb lift capacity. Class III on heavier trucks, rarely found used with carpet poles.
CAUTION! A forklift WITH a side shifter will have
less capacity
than one without, because the side shifter mechanism moves
the forks further out, about 4", while the trucks factory rating is based on having NO side shifter. Your data plate
MUST state
this lowered value. You should see on the data plate:
S/S 24" XXXX lbs or kg This difference in lift truck
capacity, with and without side shifter, should also be
subtracted from the capacity calculations in the following table. Example: If your 5000 lb. capacity forklift's data plate
says
the capacity WITH S/S is 4800, than you should take 200 lbs. off the calculations below to truly know what your forklift
can safely
pick up with the 3 types of rug pole mounts.

Forklift Trucks Center Of Gravity and Load Capacity Explained
Don't PASS this Info Up...read it before buying a pole.
|
| A 12' (144") POLE carrying a 15'
(180") long roll has a CENTER OF LOAD of Ninety Inches.
SO if your forklift is rated at 5000 lbs. @
24" CENTER OF LOAD how do you determine YOUR
forklifts lift capacity?
Here's the math formula:
Forklift Capacity x data plate center of load
divided by center of load with carpet pole
i.e. 5000 lbs x 24" = 120,000 inch/pounds lift
capacity divide by NEW LOAD CENTER 90" = 1333 lbs less the weight
of the carpet pole (about 300 lbs.) Forklift capacity 1000
lbs. What do your rolls weigh?

A word about
POLES - Our Poles are known as Stres-Proof. These are heat treated and
case hardened steel composition is 1044. You'll never weld it or drill
it. If you do weld it's butt
into a mount, it'll fracture the weld and possibly the pole. THAT'S why
they are NEVER welded.
Price Note: There are cheaper
carpet poles on the market, but not made nearly as well. One maker uses 1
lonely bottom clamp
on the carriage mount with 1 bolt. Anyone that ever
used a carpet pole knows how much twist and torque can be on a pole,
one bolt
and clamp is NOT going to make 10 years hard use. Liability is a big
issue. Our poles are made rugged with 2 clamps
and 2 bolts in each.
The pole is 4" deep in the socket, the plate stiffened with heavy channel
steel.
